Duty Deferral : You may pay duty later
With FTZUSA, you don't pay duties until your goods are imported into the US market. By moving your goods into our FTZ for bonded storage, customs duties and federal excise taxes are deferred until the goods exit our FTZ and enter the US domestic market. This deferral helps manage cash flow and eliminates upfront costs, saving you money in the long run.
Duty Saved : You may not pay any duty
For goods that are re-exported, transferred to another zone, or destroyed within the FTZ, you may not have to pay any duties. We can also assist you in applying for a drawback on duties paid for such goods. Additionally, no duties are levied on value-added services, including labor, overhead, or profit on operations performed within an FTZ.
Duty Reduction: You may pay less duty
When goods are moved into our FTZ for manufacturing or processing, you may benefit from a lower duty rate than the rate applied to the original raw materials. This can significantly reduce your overall duty costs.
Save on Processing Fees: Reduced merchandise processing fees (MPFs)
With FTZUSA, we can help you reduce MPFs by streamlined customs procedures filing one entry for all goods exiting our FTZ within a seven-day period (“weekly entry”), rather than filing individual entries for each exit. This consolidation not only reduces MPFs but also saves on customs brokerage service fees.
Flexible Operations: Manipulation and manufacture in FTZ
Our FTZ allows a wide range of activities, including assembly, exhibition, cleaning, mixing, processing, relabeling, repackaging, salvage, repair, sampling, testing, storage, and display of your goods. These activities can be performed without the immediate imposition of duties, providing greater flexibility in your operations.
Extended Storage: Bonded storage up to 5 years
Store your goods in our FTZ warehouse for up to five years. During this time, you can make entries with a lower duty rate in the future, offering extended flexibility and potential cost savings.
